Julep Eyeshadow 101 2.0

Wow, it’s been way too long since my last post. Sorry! What have I been doing this whole time? Recovering from Thanksgiving, trying to decorate my house for Christmas, buying Christmas gifts, and realizing I’m incredibly behind this year. I’m sorry to say with all the craziness going on, my nails have been a little neglected, and haven’t held up well. I’m okay with it, though, and am going to use this as an opportunity. Anyway, on to the main topic- more Eyeshadow 101s.

For a full review of this fabulous product, check out my original post here. I’m not going to repeat myself saying the same things today, but wanted to do an updated swatch. In brief, I will say that I’m a huge fan of this product, as it’s perfect to swipe on, toss in my bag, and wear all day. I’m always excited to see new colors of this product, as it’s something I constantly use in my makeup routine.

The November 2016 Collection included seven new shades: Burgundy Shimmer, Copper Shimmer, Evergreen Shimmer, Gunmetal Shimmer, Midnight Blue, Pearl Shimmer, and Violet Shimmer. An eight new shade, Onyx, was included in the December 2016 Collection. This brings the total number of E101s to 20. I also noticed with this round that there seemed to be less packaging issues; only one of my sticks came flying out of the tube, and none broke. I especially like the Violet and Pearl shades included in this round. I was skeptical at first that some would be duplicates (yet another silver, a third purple), but was pleased to find they really are all distinct, lovely shades.

I wasn’t sure I would be able to fit them all on my arm, but here they are! All 20 shades!

So, with all of these new colors, what more could we want? I love the E101s, and I’m really happy with these new additions. I could see a few more additions, though. I personally would like to see more matte shades, as I tend to gravitate more towards mattes. I like that most of the shimmers are fairly subtle, but a few more mattes would be nice, too. In terms of color, I’d love to see a white for blending, a light silver, a rose gold, a truer pink, a lighter blue, and maybe an orange? just to round out the rainbow. Which E101’s are your favorites, and what colors do you wish they had?
